How the liberal media labels conservatives

The current topicality of the conservative-liberal polarisation of society throughout Western civilisation gives rise to the necessity of studying its causes, manifestations and effects on interpersonal relationships, political (and voting) behaviour and other aspects of social life. This is the task of the social sciences. This contribution represents a section of the ongoing extensive research into Slovak liberal and conservative opinion media texts, specifically the framing of prominent cultural and ethical problems in the liberal media. Based on the theory of framing, the author identifies the key categories – popularly known as "labels" – into which liberal newspaper commentators categorise their attitude to the controversial topics of the culture war and to the conservative counterpart.
